Tick Data Adds VIX Futures Data and 27 Other New Symbols to Futures & Index Offering, Lowers Price of Futures Quote Data

Highly-desired VIX Futures Data Added, Along With New Equity Index, Currency, and Interest Rate Futures Contracts and Global Cash Indices

Great Falls, VA, February 27, 2013 – Tick Data (www.tickdata.com) today announced the addition of VIX Futures data as a part of the first phase of a significant expansion of its Futures and Index dataset offering.

More symbols are expected to be released later this year.  All of the newly-added symbols will be included with new orders and update renewals of the Complete Futures and Index Dataset.  Existing subscribers to daily updates of the Complete Futures and Index Dataset will be able to add the new symbols to existing update subscriptions and back-fill the data at a discounted price.

Additionally, Tick Data announced a price reduction for its Futures Quote dataset.  Per symbol-year and update subscription pricing have been cut by 50% to make quote data more accessible to more clients.  As with all quote data Tick Data provides, the futures quote dataset is significantly larger than the futures trade data for the same period.  In the case of futures, quote data is approximately 25X larger than the corresponding trade data.  All quote data orders include the corresponding trade data, so purchases of quote data only represent a 4X premium to the cost of trade data.

“Tick Data has always benefitted from close relationships with our clients,” said Scott Mayster, Vice President of Tick Data.  “These relationships mean our clients tell us their needs, both current and future, and this information guides our product development.  A perfect example of this is VIX futures data, which has been at the top of the list of requested futures contracts.  We were not previously able to adequately source this data, so we are very happy to be able to add it to our offering now.”

The first phase of the expansion includes trade and Level I quote data for 20 new Futures contracts:
